A grass fire has broken out at Corowa on the New South Wales-Victoria border, and is travelling fast in a north-easterly direction from the Wahgunyah Racecourse towards the Wahgunyah township.

This grassfire is not yet below manage and an Watch and Act message has been issued by the Nation Fire Authority for Corowa and Wahgunyah.
“The fire could effect the Wahgunyah township any time in between 12:00pm and 1:00pm [AEDT],” the warning reads.
Local residents have been advised that leaving now is the safest choice.
