Woman’s physique identified in South Hedland home

Police in the Pilbara are investigating the suspicious death of a 29-year-old woman in South Hedland.

Officers went to a residence in Brodie Crescent on Saturday morning to check on the woman’s welfare soon after getting details.

They discovered the woman’s body inside the residence.

Key Crime Squad detectives have travelled to South Hedland to investigate and are speaking to a 33-year-old man who is recognized to the lady.

Any individual who saw or heard anything suspicious in the region among Friday evening and Saturday morning is urged to speak to police.

Robber rips rings off elderly woman’s fingers for the duration of Adelaide break-in

An elderly woman had her rings ripped off her fingers by a robber in the course of a home break-in at Christie Downs in Adelaide’s south.

Police were known as to the woman’s property on Hepburn Road just prior to 5am right after a woman forced her way into the property and stole rings, keys and some cash.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics prior to getting taken to Flinders Health-related Centre for additional therapy.

Police stated a 21-year-old woman, of no fixed address, was arrested right after a search of the location.

She was charged with aggravated severe criminal trespass and aggravated assault. She will appear in court on Monday.

Meanwhile, police are attractive for info following two luxury vehicles were stolen in the western suburbs this weekend.

Police said thieves broke into a home on the Esplanade, Somerton Park, and stole the keys to a white 2013 Porsche Cayenne, registration SO58ANG, which was taken from the garage.

A second automobile, a white 2013 Audi A5 sedan with registration XX223N, was stolen early on Sunday from Hall Street, Semaphore Park.

Police are investigating whether or not the automobile thefts are linked.

Koala mistakes woman’s leg for tree at Cape Otway

A koala at Victoria’s Cape Otway has been filmed attempting to climb the leg of a lady who stopped to let it cross the road.

Kathy Sundstrom, from Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, uploaded the video to Facebook saying she had been “mistaken by a koala for a tree”.

Her video, which runs for just over a minute, shows the koala following her two youngsters before turning its interest to Ms Sundstrom.

A young boy can be heard saying: “It’s a dog, I am taking this one home.”

The koala then approaches Ms Sundstrom and lifts its front paws onto one of her legs before she backs away.

Ms Sundstrom leads the koala into bush, away from the road and directs it to a tree, but it follows her back to the road’s verge before wandering off.

She uploaded a second video later that day, saying, “In case you had been wondering, the koala did uncover the tree.”

‘Mummy’s dead in the lounge room’: Court told girl alerted witness to woman’s alleged murder

A man who tried to save a mother of 4, allegedly murdered in her Brisbane home, says he was awoken to the crime by 1 of her youngsters telling him “mummy’s dead in the lounge area”.

Dylan Brady has provided proof relating to the alleged murder of 34-year-old Anthea Mari.

Ms Mari was found dead in her Norman Park house, in Brisbane’s east, in August 2014.

Jacob Michael Smith has been charged with her murder and is facing a committal hearing in the Brisbane Magistrates Court.

Mr Brady right now testified that he was staying at Ms Mari’s house on the night she was killed.

He told the court 1 of her daughters woke him saying “mummy’s dead in the lounge room”.

The court heard he found Ms Mari’s physique and undertook CPR until an ambulance arrived.

Mr Brady told the court he noticed Ms Mari was wearing a thin chain necklace and had a mark on her neck.

He said it looked liked a person had pulled back on the necklace and applied pressure.

Scientific officer Senior Constable Guy Norton also gave evidence that he examined the crime scene for 3 days, taking swabs all through the residence.

He told the court when he examined the physique he noticed a discolouration to Ms Mari’s throat and neck.

Senior Constable Norton said it was a tiny abrasion in the vicinity of the necklace, measuring 5mm by 5mm.

The hearing continues.
